This site is dedicated to the memory of William Prior.

Bill was a very energetic and busy man. A very loyal husband who helped out around the house and loved his garden. We had worked together for 30 years for which I am grateful as we spent more time together than most people and enjoyed our shared life and work. Until the end of 2009 Bill was very fit and healthy, able to lift and do manual work which people 25 years younger couldn't do. In December 2009 we enjoyed a lovely holiday in Gran Canaria walking miles and climbing many steps with ease. We had both had a cough for a couple of months but it didn't bother us unduly. Very suddenly in late January 2010 Bill had to stop and rest to get his breath when he walked 500 yards from the house. This was very unusual and checks proved he had Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. It seemed very little was known about the disease and very little was available to ease it and there was no cure. Even a biopsy did not show the cause. This horrible disease meant that my very strong and capable husband was very quickly reduced to being breathless walking to another room and I was having to do everything for him. Just over 7 months later a routine CT scan showed a new development of 3 sites of cancer. These rapid cancers led to his death just 9 months after he first became breathless. RESEARCH is badly needed to help people such as Bill. During his illness he was dignified and patient. To honour this I ask that you donate as much as you can to help research into Pulmonary Fibrosis. All donations will go directly to this cause. Thank you so much. Maureen Prior and family. (He had one precious month as a Grandad)
